FOREST RESIDENCE
ABOUT THE PROJECT
This modern residence, nestled in a forest landscape, represents a bold transformation of an abandoned structure into a refined family retreat. The project was guided by a close collaboration between architect and client, resulting in a design that merges comfort with a deep connection to nature.
At the heart of the home is a double-height atrium anchored by a monumental two-meter fireplace, framed by expansive glazing that opens views to the surrounding forest. The adjoining terrace extends the living space outdoors, allowing residents to hear the sound of a nearby mountain river.
The interior combines functionality and elegance: spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a professional-grade kitchen, a private library, and a gym. Carefully planned utility and technical rooms ensure effortless daily living. Natural materials and bespoke furniture by Ukrainian manufacturers, created according to the author’s sketches, highlight the project’s authenticity.
What was once an unfinished and deteriorating building has been reimagined into a modern architectural landmark, a place for both family life and the generation of new ideas in harmony with the natural world.
